Shipping & Returns

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This policy explains delivery, digital downloads, cancellations and returns for products purchased directly from TheLinuxShop Europe at thelinuxshop.net.

This policy does not apply to books purchased directly from Amazon or another third-party retailer after following a link from our website.

1. Digital Products

PDF ebooks, audiobooks and other downloadable products do not require physical shipping.

Digital products are normally made available following successful payment by one or more of the following methods:

  • A download link displayed after checkout.
  • A download link sent to your email address.
  • Access through your TheLinuxShop Europe customer account.

Please make sure the email address supplied with your order is correct.

If you cannot access your digital purchase, contact: sales@thelinuxshop.net.

2. Digital Downloads and the Right of Withdrawal

Consumers purchasing online generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Special rules apply to ebooks, audiobooks and other digital content supplied immediately.

When you request immediate delivery of digital content, we will ask you to expressly consent to supply beginning immediately and to acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins.

Where these legal requirements have been met and supply has begun, we do not normally provide change-of-mind refunds for that digital product.

This does not affect your rights where digital content is faulty, not as described or does not conform to the contract.

3. Physical Paperback Delivery

Paperback books purchased directly from TheLinuxShop Europe will be sent to the delivery address entered during checkout.

Available delivery methods, shipping charges and applicable costs will be shown before you complete your order where required.

Any delivery times displayed on our website are estimates unless we specifically agree a guaranteed delivery date.

4. Please Check Your Delivery Address

Please check that your delivery address is complete and accurate before submitting your order.

If you notice an error, contact us as quickly as possible:

sales@thelinuxshop.net

We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once an order has been dispatched.

5. Delayed or Missing Orders

If your order has not arrived within the expected delivery period, please contact:

sales@thelinuxshop.net

We may ask you to confirm your delivery address and order information so that we can investigate the shipment with the relevant delivery provider.

6. Cancelling a Physical Book Order

Eligible consumers purchasing physical goods online generally have the right to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason.

The withdrawal period normally expires 14 days after the day you receive the goods.

To exercise this right, you must inform us clearly that you wish to withdraw from the purchase:

Email: sales@thelinuxshop.net

Please include your name and order number where possible.

7. Returning a Cancelled Order

After notifying us that you wish to withdraw, you should return the goods without undue delay and normally within 14 days of notifying us.

Returns should be sent to:

TheLinuxShop Europe - Returns

We recommend obtaining proof of posting or another form of evidence that the goods have been returned.

8. Return Postage

Where you return an unwanted item because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning it where you have been informed of this responsibility as required by law.

If the product is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described, please contact us before returning it.

Where we are responsible for the problem, return costs will be handled in accordance with your applicable statutory rights.

9. Condition of Returned Books

You may inspect a paperback to establish its nature, characteristics and condition in a similar way to how you could reasonably inspect an item in a shop.

You may be responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary for this purpose.

Please package returned books securely to prevent damage during return delivery.

10. Refunds for Cancelled Physical Orders

Where a valid withdrawal applies, we will refund the price paid for the goods and the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery option where required by applicable consumer law.

If you selected a more expensive or enhanced delivery service, the additional cost above our standard delivery method does not normally have to be refunded.

Where permitted by law, we may wait until we have received the goods back or you provide evidence that they have been returned before issuing the refund.

Refunds will normally be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.

11. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Books

If your book arrives damaged, has a printing or manufacturing fault, is not as described or is not the product you ordered, please contact us.

Please provide:

  • Your name.
  • Your order number.
  • A description of the problem.
  • A photograph where this would help us identify damage or an incorrect item.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable consumer law, an appropriate remedy may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.

12. Faulty Digital Products

If an ebook or audiobook is corrupted, incomplete, inaccessible because of a problem with the file, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the contract, please contact:

sales@thelinuxshop.net

We will first attempt to resolve the problem, which may include providing a replacement file or new download link.

Your statutory rights relating to faulty digital content are not affected.

13. Accidental Duplicate Digital Orders

If you accidentally purchase the same digital product more than once, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will review genuine duplicate transactions and, where appropriate, refund the unintended duplicate purchase.

14. Amazon Orders

Some books displayed on thelinuxshop.net may have a button or link directing you to Amazon because TheLinuxShop Europe does not stock that particular title.

If you purchase a book through Amazon, the transaction takes place between you and Amazon or the seller identified on Amazon.

Amazon's shipping charges, delivery arrangements, withdrawal rights, returns procedure and refund terms will apply to that order.

TheLinuxShop Europe cannot process a return or refund for an order placed directly with Amazon or another third-party retailer.

15. International and Cross-Border Delivery

Where delivery outside your country is available, eligible destinations and shipping charges will be displayed during checkout.

Cross-border shipments may take longer to arrive because of postal, carrier or customs procedures.

Depending on the origin and destination of the shipment and the tax treatment applied at checkout, an order may be subject to VAT, customs duties, import taxes or other charges.

Where such charges are not collected from you during checkout, you may be responsible for charges imposed by the destination country's authorities or delivery provider.
